Our Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) program is a customised 8-week program for current and ex-serving Australian Defence Force (ADF) members and their family members and carers.

It offers practical, evidence-based tools to help manage stress and trauma, strengthen resilience, and support your mental health and wellbeing — and it's designed to work alongside any therapy or support you're already accessing.

Built on over 40 years of research, this program is delivered by experienced facilitators who understand the veteran experience and the ripple effects it has on families.

What's included

Support every step of the way

Before anything else, you have an initial phone call with your teacher to answer questions and make sure the program is the right fit.

Throughout the course you'll receive weekly emails and ongoing individual support from your teacher.

8 Sessions, Live-Online

The course runs over eight live online sessions of 2.5 hours each, held weekly, plus an additional half-day online retreat towards the end of the program.

All sessions are held online, so you can take part from wherever you are.

Mindfulness meditation training

Mindfulness meditation training covering body awareness, focus, emotional regulation, stress recognition, and working with thoughts.

Engage in honest, meaningful conversations with people who understand.

Focused self-discovery & growth

Exploration of your own patterns and how to shift them.

The science behind why this works

MBSR is one of the most thoroughly researched psychological interventions in modern medicine, backed by 45+ years of rigorous evidence. In the program you'll get to unpack that science for yourself - and experience first-hand how it applies to your own stress, pain or anxiety.

You'll recieve access to the OpenGround audio app and weekly course materials, as well as a free weekly practice group once you've completed the program.

Please note that attendance at the Information session doesn't guarantee a place in the course. You will need to register separately for the MBSR course if you would like to join.
